The New Character of the Turkish Game Ecosystem: Gamenter

Entertech Istanbul Technopolis gaming cluster Gamenter opened its doors with a ceremony held on 11.07.2023.

At the Gamenter opening ceremony, Entertech General Manager Dr. Muhammed Kasapo ğlu, General Secretary of the Game Developers Association of Turkey (TOGED), Assoc. Dr. Emek Barı ş Kepenek and Roko Game Founder Sebahattin Akay made speeches.

Entertech General Manager Dr. In his speech, Kasapo ğlu gave examples from the Global and Turkish game ecosystem and emphasized that 'Gamenter' will be a dynamic structure that provides access to all the resources a gaming startup needs.

General Secretary of the Game Developers Association of Türkiye (TOGED), Assoc. Dr. Emek Barı ş Kepenek, in his keynote speech, drew attention to the importance of clusters and “Gamenter”-like structures in the Turkish game ecosystem.

Sebahattin Akay, the founder of Roko Game, who has been operating within Entertech since 2020, conveyed the importance of being in a cluster for game startups and the advantages they will gain with “Gamenter” by referring to his own story and the difficulties he experienced. At the end of his speech, he stated that as Roko Game, they would always support “Gamenter” initiatives in transferring experience.

After the opening speeches, Team V Games, Frosy Games, Visio-XR, Pax Animi Games and the Fifth Rule were presented by the “Gamenter” initiatives. The presentations were followed with interest by the participants, including Bo ğaziçi Ventures and Ludus VC.

The "Gamenter" office, which draws attention with its atmosphere and graffiti works, was opened with a ribbon cutting. The opening ceremony of the new character of the ecosystem, “Gamenter” with its special support for game initiatives and inspiring atmosphere, was held with the participation of important stakeholders of the game ecosystem.

Aiming to create a living space where game startups are nourished by diversity and grow together, “Gamenter” also includes startups that produce assistive technologies for games along with game developers.

From now on, “Gamenter” will continue to grow and make a name for itself with important events that will contribute to the overseas accelerator, pre-incubation and game ecosystem.
