
On January 5, 2026, Asst. Prof. Dr.
Kasemsak Uthaichana, Deputy Director of the Science and Technology Park, Chiang
Mai University (STeP), together with Dr. Rom Paesuwan, General Manager of the
Park, welcomed representatives from the Startup Support Foundation (SSF) and
the School of Global Entrepreneurship (SGE), Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU),
Republic of Korea.
The visiting
delegation included Prof. Kyong-Hwan Kim, Director of the Startup Support
Foundation and Dean of the School of Global Entrepreneurship, Sungkyunkwan University,
along with Mr. Seung Hoon La, CEO of Schemaplus. The visit included a
tour of the Science Park and a meeting to discuss collaborative approaches to
startup development and experiential learning at the Building of the Northern Regional Science Park.
The discussions focused on
1) Plans for
collaboration under the Experiential Learning Program (ELP) 2026
2) The
exchange and support of Thai–Korean startups through incubation and
acceleration programs of both parties,
3) Introduction
of Wonkwang University (WKU)—a Korean partner with strengths in Bio-Medical and
Bio-Food fields.
4) Development
of Thai entrepreneurs and youth, and proposed ideas for establishing future
student exchange programs.
STeP
currently engage in a variety of flexible collaboration models, depending on
the interest & funding of counterpart organization.

venture-building projects

Joint
seminars, workshops, and short programs
In addition, an inbound program is also
available, enabling partners to visit Thailand’s Regional Science Parks and
University innovation ecosystem.
