Congratulatory Remarks by ASPA President, Mr. Youngjib Kim

"Evolution of Physical AI: Autonomous Vehicles, Autonomous Vessels, and Robots" Conference. 13th International e-Mobility Expo

Distinguished guests, And to all officials from the World EV Council GEAN, the Korean Society of Mobility, and the International e-Mobility Expo Organizing Committee, congratulations on the successful hosting of the Expo. I am Kim Young-jib, President of the Asia Science Park Association.

First, the conference "The Evolution of Physical AI: Autonomous Vehicles, Autonomous Vessels, and Robots" is the most interesting and noteworthy topic during the Expo. I look forward to an excellent discussion between the chairperson, the presenter, and the debater. In the past, I asked the question a lot, "Will AI replace humans?" But these days... "Who is driving?" "Who is steering the boat?" "Oh, that's a robot... How does it work better than a person?" This is what I think. Now, AI is no longer a technology that stays within a computer, It is evolving into a 'physical AI' that directly moves the real world. This change is not just a technological advancement, but rewriting the industrial structure of South Korea. I think it's the Second Industrial Revolution. A car is no longer a car, but becoming a moving AI platform, A ship is not just a means of transportation, but becoming an intelligent marine system, The factory is not a worker, but it will transform into a space where robots and AI operate on their own.

Now, South Korea is moving from "a country that makes good products" to... We need to transition to a country that creates industries that move on their own. We can leap forward as a central nation in the physical AI industrial revolution. However, there is one important condition. Technology alone is not enough. Physical AI is on the road, on the sea, in the factory. Because it needs to actually work. Data, demonstration, regulatory innovation, and a collaborative ecosystem must go together. Sometimes I make jokes like this. "Korea's technology is fast, but the system is still being driven by people." Now, It's time for the system to move towards autonomous driving.

Today, this seat is South Korea's move towards becoming a leading nation in the era of physical AI. I hope it will be a meaningful starting point. The 29th Annual ASPA Annual Conference will be held in Saudi Arabia on November 29 to December 2. I will share today's Physical AI topic. Once again, congratulations on hosting the conference, I wish you all progress and success. Thank you.
