- Objectives : Although the East Asian countries have been a driving force for economic growth as a global center of development, they have encountered some difficulties and, in some cases, are not very optimistic about the future. As one of the keys to continuous economic growth, the promotion of science and technology as well as the development of new industries and businesses is believed to be important challenges and attention has been given to the role and direction of science parks which are the bases for such activities. This conference is a venue for representatives of science parks throughout East Asia to assemble together, exchange information on the status of individual science parks, offer opinions and hold discussions of the roles to be played by science parks. The attendees will also engage in networking to promote the coordinated development of science parks in East Asia in the future.
