Ulsan City to Establish Assessment System for

Electric and Hydrogen Car Collisions

The Ulsan Metropolitan Government said it has been selected by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy for a project aimed at ensuring the performance and safety of primary components for electric and hydrogen cars.

This project facilitates collaboration between local governments specializing in hydrogen and electric vehicle initiatives, creating an environment for joint research and development as well as business subsidy programs, with the goal of fostering a cooperative and mutually beneficial atmosphere.

The project’s duration spans four years, culminating in 2026.

Ulsan’s collision safety project involves the implementation of five equipment units designed to trial and evaluate post-collision firefighting procedures.

Additionally, it incorporates business subsidies and operations employing the aforementioned equipment.

Ulsan Technopark, with a budget of 6.8 billion won (US$5.08 million), will oversee this project.

Furthermore, it currently operates a Safety Test Center equipped with testing facilities for car collisions, impacts, and pedestrian scenarios.
