Kyoto Research Park Corp. (President: Atsuko Kadowaki, Kyoto, Japan) has signed a collaboration agreement for open innovation activities in May with a global major startup accelerator Plug and Play Japan K.K. (Plug and Play Japan, CEO & Managing Partner: Phillip Vincent, Tokyo).
KRP aims to contribute to boost open innovation from Kyoto to the world by collaborating with Plug and Play Japan.
In addition, Plug and Play Japan has just moved their office to KRP district in June 1st 2024.
Plug and Play Japan has opened its Kyoto office since June 2016 as the 2nd location in Japan. It has been engaging in startup eco-system through collaboration between industry, government, and academia and has accelerated 164 startups with its supporters, such as domestic corporate partners, Kyoto Prefecture, City of Kyoto, Kyoto Wisdom Industry Creation Center, Kyoto Chamber of Commerce and Industry, National Cerebral and Cardiovascular Center, and KRP.
KRP and Plug and Play Japan share the mutual interest in innovation and will strengthen collaboration to contribute to the creation of new business and industries from Kyoto.

1. Co-hosting events encouraging innovation in KRP district
2. Interaction through visits to both headquarters and offices and participation in respective events, etc.
3. Participation and cooperation of Plug and Play Japan in KRP hosted events, such as “HVC (Healthcare Venture Conference)”, “KRP- Fes” and other programs
