Prototype laboratories of MTDC, SDEC will be operational soon

The prototype laboratory developed by the Malaysian Technology Development Corporation (MTDC) together with the Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation (SDEC) will be launched shortly. 

The Chief Executive Officer of MTDC, Mohammad Hazani Hassan revealed that his side is now actively carrying out works from the grassroots level together with SDEC and several other agencies in Sarawak. 

"The laboratory is still being actively developed, still working with SDEC and several other agencies in Sarawak. So, I think we will launch the prototype lab in a little while. But we have brought most companies and partners to see the development of the laboratory," he said. 

He said this to TVS at the Gala Dinner of the World Congress on Innovation Technology (WCIT) and International Digital Economy Conference Sarawak (IDECS) 2023 here, on Thursday. Mohammad Hazani meanwhile informed that his party is currently working to establish a Modification Center based at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). He also hoped that the Renovation Center would be able to operate as early as the first quarter of next year. In addition, he also informed that his side will implement more and more frequent training for local talents. 

"We will do more (training and programs) to train the children of Sarawak. Of course we will also take them to Peninsular Malaysia for training. 

"It is not like a one-stop program but we will continue this program with SDEC and apart from that we also bring many companies from the Peninsular to this part of Eastern Malaysia for training and also to work in certain programs with companies and startups in Sarawak," he added.
