On September 3rd, Mr. Heo Jang-Hyeon, President of Gangwon Technopark, was elected as the 29th Chairman of the Korea Technopark Promotion Association (KTPA).

He is an expert in fostering regional industries, having held positions such as Dean at Gangwon National University, President of the Korean Society of Pesticide Science, and President of the Korean Society of Environmental Agriculture. Since taking office as President of Gangwon Technopark, he has overseen various projects in fields like semiconductors, bio-health, future mobility, and future energy.

President Heo stated, “As the focus on the ‘local era’ increases, the role and responsibility of technoparks across the nation as key institutions for fostering regional industries have become more significant.” He added, “I will do my best to establish a collaborative governance that leads regional innovation and generates more outcomes.”
