Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Akyol became the new general manager of Teknopark Istanbul

Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Akyol was appointed as the General Manager of Teknopark Istanbul, as of October 7, 2024.

Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Akyol took over the position from M. Fatih Özsoy.

A high-level appointment was made at Teknopark Istanbul, a deep technology center in partnership with the Presidency of Defense Industries of the Republic of Turkey and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce. Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Akyol, who served as ASELSAN Academy Director, was appointed as the General Manager of Teknopark Istanbul.

Teknopark Istanbul hosts local and foreign companies in different focus areas such as defense industry, cyber security, energy, artificial intelligence, robotic systems and biotechnology.

Teknopark Istanbul continues to grow with its 483 R&D companies, 10,305 R&D engineers and 3,680 national projects.

Born in 1977, Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Akyol completed his university education at Cumhuriyet University, Department of Environmental Engineering.

In addition to his academic studies at Gebze Technical University for over 20 years, Akyol served in different positions at the same university between 2014 and 2022, including Secretary General, University Board Membership, Senate Board Membership, Faculty Board Membership, TTO Coordinator, TTO Board Membership and General Manager.

Akyol, who is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Gebze Technical Education and Research Foundation, also served as a member of the foundation's Board of Directors and as the Economic Enterprise Manager.

Prof. Dr. Abdurrahman Akyol, who has numerous articles published in national and international refereed journals, has been cited more than 1,500 times.

Akyol, who started his duty as Academy Director at ASELSAN in 2023, also serves as a Board Member of TR E ğitim, a subsidiary of ASELSAN.
