Business Meeting ASIA 2011 in Hanoi, Vietnam
On June 9, ‘Business Meeting ASIA 2011 in Hanoi’ was held in Hanoi, Vietnam. It was the first business meeting held in the South east Asia and panned out well with the cooperation of Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park which is the board member of ASPA.
The 26 Vietnamese companies and 8 Korean SMEs in the field of ICT, Electrics/Electronics, Machinery Metals participated in the event and they had the 24 one-on-one business meetings in total which produced 5 potential projects among the participants. Especially, President of AITEC Co., Ltd that produces the embedded devices was invited by Vietnam’s biggest IT enterprise, FPT Software(a subsidiary of FPT) and had the separate meeting the next day.
Besides, several programs went on to further raise awareness about the business environment in Vietnam. On the morning of 8 June, the participants made the technical tour to ‘Jinsung Elect Tech’ which is the Vietnamese branch office of the cell-phone JIG manufacturer. Director, Lee Eung Sig, explained in detail about the local situation. In the afternoon, there was the invited speech by Ahn Kwang Woo, General Director of Ahn’s Delice Co., Ltd. It provided an opportunity for the participants to experience indirectly on the matter to be attended to do the business or invest in Vietnam.
On June 10, they looked around Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park and also visited several incubator companies including ‘VIKOMED’ which is the first Vietnam-Korea Medical Corporation.
Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park is the first and largest hi-tech park in Vietnam with the total area of 1586 ha and it is located in the area of Hanoi Capital. Hoa Lac Hi-tech Park will be developed as a model of a science city with over 200,000 people working and living. It consists of the main functional zones such as R&D Zone, Software Park, Hi-tech Industrial Zone, Education and Training Zone, Central and Service Area.
This technical tour provided the participants with the great experience to see the fast-developing Hanoi in person and the expanding influence of Vietnam throughout the world. We hope this business meeting will play a role as the opportunity to strengthen the relationship between Korea and Vietnam in the future.
