Business Meeting ASIA 2011 in Daegu

On Oct 27, ‘The 12th Business Meeting Asia’ was held in Daegu, Korea. About 60 participants who are twenty small and medium venture enterprises from Daegu and Gyungpuk region, eight Asian small and medium venture enterprises which were recommended by ASPA organization members and the related parties had the fruitful time at 'Business Meeting ASIA 2011 in Daeugu'. Especially, Mr. Kim Yon Chang, Vice Mayor of Political Affairs of Daegu Metropolitan City and Mr. Park Seong Tae, the member of Economy and Translation Committee came to grace the meeting with their presence.

I. Company Presentations

On the morning of Oct 27, eight Asian small and medium venture enterprises made the presentations to introduce the products and technologies of their companies.

Ⅱ. Business Meeting

The 8 Asian companies from China, Japan, Taiwan and Vietnam and 20 Korean SMEs in the field of ICT, Machinery Metals, Electrics Electronics participated in the event and they had the 30 one-on-one business matches in total. Especially, this time 3 staff from the sponsorship organizations of the business meeting and 13 people from 5 Korean organizations attended the opening ceremony and graced the occasion more meaningful.

Ⅲ. Technical & Culture Tour

On October 28, the meeting participants visited ‘Daegu Mechatronics & Materials Institute’ for the technical tour. The visit was considered very useful to get the related information for the visitors who work in the same field of industry. For this reason, the representatives of Asian SMEs enjoyed this visit a lot. After that, they also visited 'Institute of Semiconductor Fusion Technology' which was first founded by Dr. Jong Hyun Lee(Chairperson of ASPA) and located in Kyeongbuk National University. Some participants even experienced the laboratory themselves with the guidance of the manager.

In the afternoon, all the delegates visited Donghwasa Temple which is the most popular tourist attraction of Daegu Metropolitan City. They had the Korean traditional lunch named 'Gondrae Rice' and enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Korean fall season.

We hope this business meeting will play a role as the opportunity to strengthen the relationship between the Asian venture enterprises in the future.
