th, Business Meeting ASIA 2015 in Kawasaki was held in Japan with the global companies in the fields of ICT, electric, electronics, machinery and metals. The meeting was held during the 19
thASPA Annual Conference and organized by Asian Science Park Association, Kanagawa Science Park and sponsored by Daegu Metropolitan City.
Invited Speech
On November 8
th, there was an invited speech for participants. The Director CFO, Mr. Kunihiko Takei at W-SCOPE Corporation was invited and talked about the business in Japanese market, how their company has been developed in Japan and trends in Li-ion batteries, which are the company’s main products. This gave an opportunity for the participants to learn the current business situation and trends in Japan.
Technical Tour
On November 9
th, participants paid a visit to Ookawa industrial complex. They visited ‘Kukumaru-Kinzoku, Ltd.’’ first, which is a specialized company for precision technologies on parts. It was followed by the visit to ‘Hinode Corporation’, which also specializes precision technologies. The Japanese companies were eager to cooperate with Korean companies also for global business. It was a rare opportunity to visit Japanese factories and companies, so participants were very satisfied with these arranged visits.
Business Matching
The total number of 42 people attended the business meeting (21 from Japan, 17 from Korea, 1 from Hong Kong, 2 from Iran) to find business partners and to expand into the Japanese market. Out of 20 meetings held at Kanagawa Science Park, 9 meetings ended up making progress. It is expected that some of them will have follow-up meetings and further projects.
On the last day, there were various technical and cultural tours prepared by Kanagawa Science Park for participants. The participants chose the tour according to their interest. Through those tours, participants could experience and see the industries in Japan. The next ASPA business meeting will be held in Malaysia in April, 2016.
