Overview
On 29th October, 「Business Meeting ASIA 2020_Online, Vietnam」 was held online using the video conference platform 'ZOOM'.
The event aims to help local SMEs struggling with entering overseas markets due to the prolongation
of COVID-19 pandemic.
The companies from Vietnam and Korea in the field of ICT, Automobile parts, Electronics, Automation/Robot, Medical and etc participated in the event, which was co-organized by Asian Science Park Association (ASPA), Gyeongbuk Institute of IT Convergence Industry Technology (GITC), INNOPOLIS Foundation, Korea Intelligent Automotive Parts Promotion Institute (KIAPI), Gyeongbuk Research Institute of Vheichle Embedded Technology (GIVET) with the supporting of Daegu Metropolitan City. In addition, three of ASPA's organization members in Vietnam including Da Nang Hi-Tech Park (DHTP) and Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park (HHTP) helped the event had more Vietnamese companies participated. Thus, the 17 promising companies from Korea who would like to expand their business in Vietnam market and 39 Vietnamese buyers had the online business meeting with each other.
Opening Ceremony
「Business Meeting ASIA 2020_Online, Vietnam」 started with the greeting and introduction to the event by Mr. Young-Ho Nam, the director of ASPA, and it was followed by a guest speaker's speech. Dr. Il-San Kim, a former chief representative of Korea International Trade Association (KITA) Hochiminh center, took charge of the speech about the economic status in Vietnam and strategies for Korean companies to Vietnamese market. He not only has a experience that he lived in Vietnam but also has given lectures regarding FTA and practice of the international trade, so the speech included a lot of practical information for the Korean participants.
Business Meeting
Before the meeting started, All 17 Korean participants had a pre-meeting with the interpreters who were assigned one for each of them. The interpreters were informed about and tried to get familiar with the products in advance while having an enough time to discuss with the participants. And then the Vietnamese buyers and the Korean participants had the online business meeting.
All participants were serious and had their great effort to make actual business relationship and achievement. In spite of a bit of network trouble, the event ended well.
In this event, Daegu Information Security Service Center participated and provide a counselling service to the participant companies regarding how to build a corporate information security system and other information security support for the company.
