MRANTI Launches 2024 Global Accelerator Programme With
ASB
Collaboration To Tackle Global Challenges
The Malaysian Research Accelerator for Technology &
Innovation (TIPM/MRANTI) has officially launched the 2024 cycle of its Global
Accelerator Programme (GAP), designed to advance innovative solutions
addressing critical global challenges.
This year’s programme, themed “Tech for Impact,” invites
companies to scale up their solutions with comprehensive support, investment
opportunities, and global recognition, focusing on Food Security &
Sustainability, Healthcare, and Renewable Energy.
The programme will be hosted at ASBhive, under the
supervision of the Asia School of Business (ASB) Innovation and
Entrepreneurship Center (IEC). ASB, known for developing agile and
transformative leaders, will collaborate closely with MRANTI, offering its
faculty’s expertise in areas such as AI, Sustainability, and Leadership.
Sanjay Sarma, ASB’s Chief Executive Officer, expressed
enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We are thrilled to work with MRANTI to
provide strategic planning, mentorship, and development to nurture
entrepreneur-leaders who challenge the status quo.”
GAP 2024 targets an enrolment of at least 20 companies,
offering participants access to workshops, masterclasses, and networking
opportunities. They will also benefit from the National Technology and
Innovation Sandbox (NTIS), which supports testing and validating technology
solutions in a controlled environment.
Safuan Zairi, Chief Ecosystem Officer of MRANTI, highlighted
the programme’s goal of empowering companies and addressing pressing industry
issues. He noted past successes such as V-Farm’s vertical gardening solution
and affirmed, “We do not just hand out resources; we help our participants use
them to their fullest potential for maximum impact.”
The programme also offers a chance for participants to be
nominated for The Earthshot Prize, a global sustainability award founded by His
Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales. This nomination underscores ASB’s and
MRANTI’s commitment to recognising innovative solutions for environmental challenges.
The previous GAP cycle had a notable impact, with 20
companies and 50 entrepreneurs generating RM22.42 million in value. GAP 2024,
running from September to November, encourages eligible companies to apply and
seize this opportunity to accelerate their growth and innovation.
