The 25th ASPA Annual Conference was ended in success!



From November 1 to 2, 2022, the 25 th ASPA Annual Conference was held in Jeju, Korea and successfully ended thanks to the distinguished participants and the host organization JDC.

On October 31, one day prior to the conference, <the 40 th ASPA Board of Director Meeting> took place. The current status of ASPA members, ASPA’s activities in 2021, the future activities, etc. were informed at the boardmeeting.


On November 1, the conference under the theme of ‘The Future of Science Parks in the Post-Corona Era’ commenced with keynote speech by Dr. Wayne Wang, President of ASPA and Director General of Hsinchu Science Park.

At the four plenary sessions and a special session, 13 invited speakers delivered a speech on the below topics;

- Session 1: Environment and Science Parks

- Session 2: Social Responsibility of Science Parks

- Session 3: Changes in Working Environment of Science Parks

- Session 4: New Technologies Related to Post-Corona

- Special Session: Jeju Special Self-Governing Province Investment Assistance

There also was a session for <ASPA Awards 2022 Final Evaluation>.

At the closing session, Introduction of ASPA’s new members and ASPA Awards 2022 Ceremony and Introduction of the 26 th ASPA Annual Conference were held before the dinner.

The 26 th ASPA Annual Conference in 2023 will be hosted by Teknopark Istanbul in Istanbul, Turkiye.

Teknopark Istanbul is a technology development center established for contributing to Turkiye's innovation in the various fields from basic science to energy, advanced materials, national defense, aerospace, etc. It joined ASPA in 2014 and has been active in ASPA's activities every year as a key member.


On November 2, the participants had the technical tour to Jeju Innovation Growth Center located in JDC.

JDC is engaging in an accelerating project under the name of Route 330 to support ICT companies in Jeju. Promising ICT start-ups are being provided with not only offices in the Jeju Innovation Growth Center but also one on one consultation, financial support, etc.

The technical tour was followed by the visit to Sangumburi and Jeju Folk Village, one of famous sightseeing spots in Jeju.



The 25 th ASPA Annual Conference was the first in-person annual conference in three years since the outbreak of the Covid-19 and brought total 307 participants (235 domestic / 72 international).

As mentioned above, the next ASPA Annual Conference will be held in 2023 in Istanbul, Turkiye.
