Hanbat National University participated in a consulting seminar for Mongolian science park operation



Hanbat University, which is linked with the Korea Science & Technology Park (K-STP) education project, and related professors were invited by the Science Park Office under the Ministry of Education and Science in Mongolia to discuss the operation of the science park.


The Korean-style science park education project, which is supervised by the Innopolis Foundation and exclusively operated by the Hanbat National University Regional Cooperation Center, targets public officials and science park-related officials in developing countries to develop, create, and develop the Daedeok Research and Development Special Zone, a representative model of the Korean-style science complex. This is a training course that imparts knowledge related to operation.


Since 2008, 494 science complex officials from 73 countries have completed the course during a total of 24 operations. Among them, there are many high-ranking positions such as ministers and vice ministers of host countries and directors of science and technology complexes.



At a seminar held in Mongolia, Hanbat University passed on know-how on how to create an ecosystem and support system based on universities and government-funded research institutes on how to create a start-up ecosystem in a science complex recently created by Mongolia in Ulaanbaatar.


Seo Jun-seok, head of Hanbat National University Regional Cooperation Center, who is in charge of this seminar and Korea Science Park education operation, said, “I hope that this workshop will help develop science and technology and economic growth in Mongolia by passing on the know-how of operating the Korean science and technology park model.” We are delighted that our cooperation model has been recognized internationally.”
